The 'end of the world', 'apocalypse', 'doomsday' and so on has been predicted a number of times in history, and as we're all still standing here, they've all been wrong so far.
So why is everyone so crazy about the world apparently ending in December 2012? Apparently it was predicted by Mayans.

If I believed for sure that this was our last year in existence, I'd throw the TV out of the window, give away my Nintendo and r4 ds full of games, get as many massive bank loans as I could and take every single person that I love, like or even know and go on a massive year long extravaganza enjoying myself.
But what if the end of the world didn't happen? I'd enter 2013 with huge debts and probably a huge headache, so it'd likely be the end of the world as I knew it.
